Iliff School of Theology is proud to announce its selection to participate in the inaugural Belonging Colorado Cohort, a new initiative aimed at fostering inclusivity and resilience across the state. The Belonging Colorado program, a special fund at The Denver Foundation, has chosen 15 organizations from across Colorado to join this impactful effort, and Iliff is excited to contribute to this transformative work.
As part of this cohort, Iliff School of Theology will build its proposed Circle of Multiple Belonging project. This initiative aims to address and heal the divisions present within the community, including those based on religion, race, politics, and economic status. The project focuses on creating spaces for ongoing engagement and relationship-building across different groups, ultimately fostering a sense of belonging for all.
A key aspect of the project is Intercultural Belonging, which strives to bridge cultural and identity differences through structured gatherings and activities. The goal is to create a sense of belonging that transcends boundaries and fosters meaningful connections among individuals from diverse backgrounds. By engaging in a broad range of activities, participants will be encouraged to collaborate and address challenges together, strengthening a sense of interconnection and ultimately the fabric of their communities.
“We are thrilled to be a part of the Belonging Colorado initiative,” said Amanda Henderson, Director of the Institute for Religion, Politics & Culture at Iliff School of Theology. “This project aligns deeply with our mission to create spaces for healing and mutual understanding, and we look forward to working alongside other organizations to build a more connected and inclusive Colorado.”
