Dr. Michael P. Hemenway

Bio

Dr. Michael P. Hemenway is Director of Design and Data Science at the Association of Theological Schools and Research Associate at Case Western Reserve University in h.lab. Michael specializes in data integration, natural language processing, organizational design, instructional design, and ethical practices around the use and development of artificial intelligence. Michael was co-founder of the Experimental Humanities Lab and the Artificial Intelligence Institute at the Iliff School of Theology. He is currently working with Dr. Timothy Beal, Google, and the National Humanities Center on the Responsible Artificial Intelligence Curriculum Design Project. Michael holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the University of Puget Sound, a Master of Arts in Biblical Studies from Denver Seminary, and a Ph.D. in the academic study of Religion from the Joint Doctoral Program at the University of Denver and Iliff School of Theology.
