Bio
In 2000, I graduated from Colorado State University (CSU) with a degree in English. I had a clear vision of attending seminary and continuing through the process to be an ordained UM elder. I started my M.Div program at Iliff School of Theology on September 11, 2001. It was a day that changed the world. It was a profound day to enter into a three-year Master’s program to study God in the world.
After graduating from Iliff and achieving the status of Probationary Elder in the Rocky Mountain Conference of The UMC in 2005, I was appointed as Associate Pastor to First UMC, Grand Junction, CO. I served there for six years and enjoyed all five generations represented in the church. I sought to build a young adult ministry and found great joy in doubling our numbers year after year. In the midst of ministry there, Eric and I were married (in 2008). I was also ordained an Elder in Full Connection in 2008.
With much prayer and some medical help, we had twins in 2011, a boy and a girl. I was overjoyed and felt I wanted to devote time to them. In 2014, we had our third baby, a girl, and we felt our family was complete. After five years of family leave, I asked for an appointment in 2016. I was appointed as Pastor of Discipleship at St. Andrew UMC in Highlands Ranch, CO. This was a great match, as the pace of the church matched the high energy I hoped for in a congregation.
And finally, in 2019, I felt called to apply for the open Director of Connectional Ministry position in the Mountain Sky Conference. I was appointed to this position in July by Bishop Karen Oliveto. My dual title includes Superintendent of Vitality, which oversees a team for the development of emerging faith communities and Fresh Expressions across the conference. Our work includes a Lilly Endowment grant for Compelling Preaching for engagement over a five-year period.
