Bio

Dr. Grover excelled as a clinician in his 50 years of academic and Veterans Affairs practice. He earned his undergraduate and medical degrees from Duke University and underwent his surgical residency training at Duke and the University of Colorado. Following his training, Dr. Grover joined the Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery at The University of Texas Health Sciences Center in San Antonio. He also served as the Chief of the Cardiothoracic Surgery Section at the Audie Murphy VA Medical Center. From there, Dr. Grover joined the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center as Professor and Division Head of Cardiothoracic Surgery. He also became Chief of the Surgical Service at the Denver VA Medical Center.

He established a lung transplant program at the University of Colorado Hospital, where he performed the hospital’s first lung transplant in 1992. Dr. Grover currently is Professor Emeritus of Cardiothoracic Surgery at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical.

An accomplished researcher, Dr. Grover authored or co-authored more than 340 published manuscripts and book chapters.

Throughout his life, Dr. Grover has been passionate about serving others. In addition to being a Lieutenant Commander in the United States Naval Reserve, Dr. Grover volunteered his time to service on the Board of the Iliff School of Theology, with the Boy Scouts of America and various Rotary clubs. He completed numerous medical mission trips to Nepal, where he helped enhance surgical care at two cardiac centers in Kathmandu.
